This is another project of mine- the weight loss blog I keep was collecting enough recipes that I thought I should launch a child blog to house them exclusively. As you can see, I kept the style of the graphics the same, but shifted them from scales and measurements to forks and spoons. I also subtly shifted the color palette to something sunnier. Deb’s Cooking!

I changed up the positioning of the fishies and toy mice, as well as made the background softer (easier on the eye) and added a border around the perimeter. I also changed the font face.

A lot of changes to this one this time. Everyone but the poor dogs had major work done, and I added Mattie's beard and mustache because he totally looked like a girl without them. Next time I work this one over I'll work on the dogs.

The 30 Day Drawing Challenge

I know, I started this when, back in July of 2011 I think? If I had stuck with the original rules, I would have been done by August, easily. But instead I opted to work on them in ten minute batches, one day at a time, until I decided they were right. Obviously that could take months, right? I didn’t really think of that at the time.

Anyway, yesterday I started working on them again, breaking them down on the site into completed and not completed. A few of them that I had designated as unfinished actually seemed finished after not looking at them once for 6+ months. I’ve managed to finish a few of the others, make some changes to a few more, and there’s some I haven’t touched yet. But at this point about 50% are deemed finished.

Check them out. Suggestions are always welcome for those in progress- sometimes I get stuck and need an outside nudge to get going again.

Taking a cue from the favorite candy drawing, I decided simplicity was best. I decided to go so simple as to make the model into a maniquin rather than attempt a full-fledged person in disguise. I do miss the mustache though.

After taking a long break form this, I realized I was going about this one all wrong. Simple was indeed better, and I removed everything but the bare bones. I like it.

30 DDC – Day 2, 3nd Revision

I added depth to the chest this time around, and adjusted the hooves a bit. I also made the face longer and not as wide, added detail to the ears to make them less two-dimensional, and moved the eyes outward on the skull to a more natural position. The body proportions are definitely more correct now, but the issue of re-drawing the head is still present.

This one was a tough one, but after letting it sit for a while and not thinking about it, I actually kind of like it, though it is making me crave cake.
