I’ve found and installed a great new plug-in here on Kittyloaf Designs. Instead of having sales or coupons, you can make me an offer. If its within the range of values I’ve set, the offer will be accepted and it will be added to your cart. Most of my items have this feature turned on, but not all of them.

Why don’t you pop on by and see what a great deal you can get on my fabulous handcrafted items? Your possible discount varies from item to item.

Did you know my shop always has coupons available? And did you know know that you don’t even have to know what they are to use them?

At any time, I have several coupons available, and all of them that apply to your order will be added automatically at check-out. Just visit the cart page to see your savings!

These are the coupons available from now until the end of the year- they can add up to big savings!

  • 10% off rainbow items
  • buy 3 get 1 free on $5 earrings
  • 8% off wearable yarncraft
  • 8% off $20
  • 12% off $50
  • 16% off $100+
  • 10% off brick stitch earrings
  • 10% off video game jewelry

There’s also a local pick-up option available. I’m in Lancaster, CA, in the 93534 zip code and am often available to orchestrate pick-up orders. Just choose local pick-up at checkout and I’ll email you about when you’d like to come by.

The craft fair was yesterday and to keep it simple, I’ll just say it was disorganized and not very many people were making sales. Traffic was so-so, and several people commented to me that they would never spend money at something like this. It was just not a good day.

After all that, today I decided I needed a little retail therapy. There were several good coupons in the apps for both Joann’s and Michael’s, so I decided to visit both of them.

This is what I came away with.

Joann’s

Caron jumbo skein with a 60% off coupon – $5.99 (reg. $9.99)
RHSS jumbo skein with a 40% off coupon – $4.79 (reg. $7.99)
8 regular skeins of RHSS with a 30% off coupon – $2.44 each (reg. $3.49)
2 Big Twist value at 25% off – $2.39 each (reg. $3.19)

Total savings $17.18

After that I decided to go back to Michael’s and got this stuff.

Michael’s

3 skeins Craft Smart with 20% off coupon – $2.39 each (reg. $2.99)
2 skeins Caron Simply Soft at 2 for $5 & 20% off coupon – $2 each (reg. $4.49)
Impeccable BIG! on sale for $7 and 20% off coupon – $5.61 (reg. $9.99)

Total savings $11.09

I spent $54 including tax on 18 skeins of yarn, mostly in colors I didn’t already have.

Now the question is where am I going to put it all?

Guess what? You don’t have to fiddle with entering coupon codes any longer in my shop. When you check out, all coupons you’ve met the requirements for will be applied automatically! So that 18% off of everything coupon? Boom! Yours! No code required! You bought brick stitch earrings? There’s a little extra savings for that too! I’m not going to tell you what all the coupons are, but you could save big without even trying.

Why not click through to the shop and have a look around? I’ll be adding a few more items in the next few days as well.

Hello friends!

Over the last few weeks I’ve made some changes. If you’ve been to the site recently, you’ve likely seen the biggest ones right away. The most noticeable change is that I changed the way the website and shop look. I decided to go with an unmodified theme that was made especially to work with my shop software and the result is pretty good.

The second biggest thing that changed is I removed all of the graphic design portfolios from the site and am focusing purely on the shop aspect. I’ve also redone the menus to better focus on the shop and make it friendlier both on computers and on mobile devices. I haven’t been doing much graphic design and to be honest, the laptop I current have is awful and makes it nearly impossible. Less stuff = simpler to navigate.

The third thing, and this might interest you if you intend to place an order, is I got out my postal scale and I weighed almost every item in the shop and re-calculated shipping rates by the half ounce. What this means is you will get the absolute lowest possible shipping rate I can afford to give you. There is no way anyone can say my shipping rates are unfair! I hate paying too much for shipping, and I’m sure you do too.

The fourth thing is I’ve been adding new products like crazy! Your best bet is to pop by the site and see for yourself, but I’ll show you a few images from the new items here so email subscribers can get a quick peek.

There are several other new items, plus of course the other 200+ items that previously existed in the shop.

I’m planning to add more over the next week too, so pop in, have a look, and remember there is always a coupon code available. Right now and through the end of the year, that code is UKULELE for 20% off of everything. That includes sale items too!

I’ve also added a way to comment on and discuss items in my shop. You don’t have to log in or register to do it- just fill out a name, email address, and ask your question or leave a comment. Easy!

redheavy2Just a quick blurb here tonight for you.

I spent some time this morning taking photos of and adding some items to my shop I somehow missed adding before. I know you blog subscribers see my new posts, but I don’t think that new shop items are sent out in the same way. Pop on by the shop and have a look! I’ve added new knit and crochet, and new jewelry items with probably more to add over the weekend. I literally have so many items I sometimes miss adding a few. The newest items display first, so you don’t even have to go far to see them. Just click on Shop!

I also got super lucky and the price dropped on the ukulele I wanted so I was able to order it! I’m so excited for it to arrive! Shipping estimates say about a week, but I’m super hopeful that it will arrive sooner. I can’t wait to start learning to play.

I’m still hoping to make the sales I missed out on last Monday though and I have some other people very interested in some other items. Fingers crossed I make all the sales and then I can start putting aside some Christmas money.

If there’s any item you’re thinking about, know I try to make my shipping rates as close to spot on as possible and if I overcharge you on shipping, I will issue you a partial refund. The coupon code UKULELE is good until the end of the year for 20% off of everything in the shop, even though I’ve already ordered it.

As some of you might know, I do surveys online for money. A lot of the companies pay out in gift cards instead of by check or PayPal, and yesterday I received my $50 Michael’s gift card in the mail. Obviously this meant I needed to go to Michael’s and see what I “needed.” I went in thinking I’d look at beads, yarn, clay stuff, and look for a box and bobbins for sure for my horribly messy embroidery floss collection. I came out with beads, yarn, a paintbrush, and some embroidery floss. My total was just under $50 and I was able to get almost everything on sale, plus use a 40% off one item coupon.

That blanket yarn is going to become a blanket in the near future! I can’t wait to get started! I also wasn’t completely sold on the Viva yarn, but it knits really nicely, is machine wash and dryable, and it becomes a lot softer after washing. Its definitely growing on me, though it isn’t the softest. The Sashay yarn… I saw this YouTube video and I had to give it a try!

And check it out! It turned out awesome and you can buy it in my shop!

I thought I was done shopping for craft supplies for a bit, but then I made a sale in my shop and decided to take advantage of the FOUR 50% off one regular priced item coupons I got in my email form Joann’s. I headed over there, and I came home with something I should have gotten when I went to Michael’s- a box for storing embroidery floss bobbins, plus 2 packs of plastic bobbins! Below is after a good hour had passed of my untangling my floss and winding it nice and neat.

As you can see, I seem to have a lot of white/cream/brown and only a few of everything else. I’ll have to remember when picking up floss colors at random what I need more of.

I also got 4 skeins of yarn while I was there. Two of the Snuggle Bunny baby yarn (someone’s little ones are getting hats this winter!), a ridiculous skein of Fizzle yarn (looks like shag carpeting to me!), and another skein of Sashay. The Sashay is kind of a pain to knit but it turns out so pretty and it really is quick to do.

I ended up spending a total of $21 since 4 of my 7 items were 50% off, 2 were 25% off, and one (a package of bobbins) was full price at like $1.69 or something. That feels pretty darn good, especially when you consider more than half of that was paid for by an item I sold that costs me almost nothing to make and just takes time. I literally got $84.94 worth of stuff and it only cost me some time, and $21.24 out of pocket. That’s a pretty great shopping trip I think! 11 skeins of yarn, 1 paintbrush, 2 strands of beads, 3 skeins embroidery floss, 1 bobbin box, and 2 packages  of 28 bobbins each.
